When the EU Nations Women 2025 tournament kicks off in Brno on October 31, it will bring together eight national teams — and one question: can Slovakia repeat their success from last year’s tournament?
Last year’s edition ended with Slovakia standing tall as champions, followed by Germany, Sweden, and Czechia narrowly missing out on a medal. That mix of emerging powers and traditional contenders returns this year, with old rivalries promising another competitive showcase of Europe’s rising women’s teams.
What began as a small invitational has evolved into a key checkpoint for Europe’s developing water polo nations. The EU Nations Women tournament provides valuable international experience outside the traditional championship cycle — a testing ground where emerging teams can measure progress and build cohesion.
This year’s lineup includes Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Scotland, Wales, and the British Hawks — a composite squad of UK-based players. With eight nations over three days, the format will test both depth and recovery.
The group stage of the 2025 EU Nations Women tournament promises a packed schedule and several intriguing matchups. Opening day in Brno will see Switzerland face Wales and Slovakia meet the British Hawks, followed by Czechia against Scotland and an early heavyweight clash between Sweden and Germany.
